making bath salts

Posted on Jul 5, 2013 by in CREATE, HEALTH | 0 comments

We had LOTS of leftover epsom salts from Pebbles’ science fair project about crystals.  Inspired by the plethora of American Girls’ books that she reads on how to do many fun things – she wanted to make some bath salts. As I was new to buying products from Young Living – I did happen to have some peppermint and lavender essential oils.

Items needed:

  • clean glass jar with lid
  • spoon
  • bowl (or bowls for different colors)
  • food coloring
  • decorative ribbon if desired

Steps:

  1. Put epsom salts into each bowl per color you want to make it
  2. Add ONLY 1-2 drops of therapeutic grade essential oils (any scent you like) because they are so potent
  3. Add a tiny bit of food coloring
  4. Stir
  5. Place in the jars – you can do all one color, or layer in stripes of different colors
  6. Decorate the lid or label
