color sorting + counting

A fun way for the little ones to practice sorting colors, matching their numbers – and great for their fine motor skills.

1. wash an old egg carton and remove lid
2. use a sharpie pen and write clearly a number in the bottom of each section
3. fine small objects, like beads, and sort by different colors per qty (it’s easier for them to use all one color and focus just on number qty, but to make it more challenging, use different colors
4. they can use their fingers – or tweezers to pick out the bead or object and place into the section
