Digging through our cookie cutters for a fun way to cut our simple sandwiches for lunch that was festive — but easy — since we spent a while making the July 4th yogurt pops.

I found, what I thought to be quite old…. “patriotic cookie cutters!”  They were given to us by my mother-in-law, who deals in antiques and likes to collect fun items.  Funnily enough after I convinced that they were very retro and authentically old…. turned the box over to find a Restoration Hardware price tag on it !! What can I say – the box even looked really worn!!

So the kids had a peanut butter Lincoln and a United States of America sandwich – and I had a bald eagle salami, mustard and havarti. I guess George Washington will need to wait for next year. 😉
